Fashion month officially wrapped up last week, and in the heat of the glitz and glam of the freshly walked runways, I'm left feeling inspired, ready to raid my closet and the nearest thrift stores with fresh styling ideas in mind and new pieces on my radar. Even though it can feel worlds apart from your computer live-streaming the Dior Autumn/Winter ‘26 show to the catwalks of the fashion capitals, it doesn’t mean it can’t influence our little bubbles in some ways.

I mean, for us mere mortals, it’s not like we’re looking at which pieces to add to our fall wishlists, but we're getting a peek into a universe filled with visions of reimagined versions of ourselves. What can help minimize the distance just a bit is seeing a piece of clothing or an accessory from the runway that looks like something you already have in your wardrobe. It’s like getting a big fat stamp of approval and you’re left with that feeling of “ohh, am I actually on to something here”.

Of course, it’s not like we’re going to absolutely drop dead over everything, but before we start pulling out our 1-to-10 score sheets like we’re expert judges on Dancing with the Stars, it’s good to be reminded that what we’re seeing is the result of someone’s blood, sweat, and tears. That really adds an extra layer of appreciation to an industry that seems somewhat superficial and flashy at first glance. We're maybe not buying into the new collections that will hit the racks in a few months, but we're buying into the dream it's selling. Speaking of buying, here are some pieces and details I found cool from this season that I’ll look into purchasing somewhere a bit cheaper, to spare myself from going bankrupt!

Matières Fécales

I’ve been adoring pearls for a while, but never thought of styling it in the way we saw on the Matières Fécales show - twisted, layered & wrapped together. Seeing them styled with a cashmere sweater is also super nice, as I love pearls the most in an edgy, not-too-fancy context.

Torby Burch & McQueen

A chunky silver bracelet can really elevate a whole outfit. It’s like having an eye-catching-jacket, you really don’t need much else to make it interesting!

Marc Jacobs & Gucci

Ahh love a black satin moment! Especially in more structured pieces, such as blazers and pants.

Tom Ford & Balmain

Blouses are, in general, a clothing category I’ve been rejecting since high school, but when styled in a more laid-back way, I really enjoy them. The high-neck detail is also chef’s kiss. Maybe they’ve been left out in the cold for too long.

Also, channeling my inner Chloé-girl in my new vintage leather coat with fur trim (and shoulder pads big enough to take out a whole rugby team).

Calvin Klein & Khaite

Velvet has it’s own quiet confidence. It’s sophisticated and sleek, yet mysterious and arrogant. The smooth texture adds such depth to an outfit - I’d love a blazer or floor-length coat in black velvet.

Matières Fécales & Chanel

It’s not that Chanel’s iconic tweed - now practically synonymous with the house - is anything new, but the distressed finish gives it a fresh, modern edge. At the Chanel show, it was styled with a simple white top, making it even easier to recreate.

Bottega Veneta

Loved these bubbly statement necklaces from the Bottega Veneta show - looked so good paired with an oversized blazer or coat.

Altuzarra & August Barron

A furry, pom-pom broche to put on blazers and jackets? It’s a yes from me.

McQueen & Balmain

Wedges have been the talk of the town for a while, but here the look is more understated, which adds an interesting touch!
