24/03 DIARY
A while ago I stumbled across a word that I think perfectly summes up a very specific part of my personality: ritualistic.
And while that sounds as if I’m planning on starting an underground religious cult, I'm referring to those small practices in my everyday routine. Or let's call them rituals. I have this idea that if I can turn completely normal things into these little events I look forward to, it will elevate and sprinkle up an otherwise dull day.
Maybe it’s an intuition think, you just know when the time is right.
I think it’s about getting the most out of that moment, squeezing every bit of excitement that I can
I think it’s insane to just “put on that last episode of a show” when you have plans right after, I mean this needs to be a whole event.
It’s an important thing to keep romantazising your life, and I feel like we all could use some more blessings here and there (holy).

(01) I allow my self one absurdly honey-sweetened ice coffee a day. And I’m not wasting it as some side-drink mixed with my breakfast, it has it’s own time sloth in my mornings completely undisturbed.
(02) Watching specific movies or episodes of tv-shows. Putting on that last episode of a show you loved on a random Tuesday in between dinner and a workout class? Insane. Basically, the stars had to align before my annual re-watch of The Devil Wears Prada, and the same goes for documentaries or shows I’ve been saving on my must-watch list. It's gotten to the point where I should probably start scheduling them into my weekly calendar.
(03) The same goes for my favorite podcasts. Some podcasts are just background noise - but when an episode drops that I need to hear every word of, you bet I'll schedule a long walk or a cleaning session just to listen.
(04) Buying magazines. Whether I make a whole event of hunting down a new magazine or just grab one at a kiosk while on the go, the thrill is the same - and I always wait for the right moment to actually sit down and read it. I'll flick through a few pages before deciding, of course, but I like to leave some surprises for when I actually sit down to read.
(05) Maybe on a more romanticize-your-life vibe, but buying garbage bags in a cute color. Makes it so much more fashionable to take out your trash.
(06) Nice candles. I feel like I’ve been sleeping on candles for a while? And yes, I’m still waiting for the perfect moment to light up this black candle. I find it surprisingly exciting to look at it every single day and wonder: “will this be the day?”. And when I choose to finally light it, it will be it’s own little special occasion.
